What this planet teaches

Trading Time for Money

Most money is earned by trading your time, skills, or products for payment.

Ways people earn money:

  • Employment — working for a company (salary or hourly wage)
  • Freelancing — offering skills to different clients
  • Business — selling products or services you create
  • Investments — making money work for you (more on this in the investing course!)

  • As a kid, you can earn through:

  • Chores and household tasks
  • Helping neighbors (lawn mowing, pet sitting, car washing)
  • Selling things you make (lemonade stand, crafts, digital art)
  • Tutoring younger kids in subjects you're good at

  • The key insight: Your earning potential is tied to the value you create for others. The more useful your skills, the more people will pay for them.

    How a planet works

Go through a short lesson with the KidCash mascot, three or four cards with a question to tap and reveal on each set. Last comes a three-question checkpoint: answer two correctly to clear the planet and earn the Hustler badge. Lesson progress stays in this browser; when a kid signs in, planet badges and any Family-plan badge rewards save to their KidCash profile.

Land on Mining Asteroid to try the lesson cards and checkpoint. This planet’s mini game is arriving soon.
